The Permanent Collection of the National Art Gallery, Malaysia consist of more than two thousand art works by both local and foreign artists. Collected over the years since its establishment in 1958, the Permanent Collection represents visual artists drawn from the multi-ethnic communities that is unique to the Malaysian society.

The National Art Gallery will continue to acquire exceptional art pieces to promote the diversity and complexity of Malaysian artists and their creative talents to the Malaysian art community and the general public at large and in conjunction with other galleries to the world audience.
