The Fine Temperament of Lee: An Appreciation of the Lee Kah Yeow Collection 10 May 2004 - 15 May 2005
In March 1975, Lee Kah Yeow (1901 - 1995) bequeathed to the National Art Gallery 20 pieces of his own works and 50 pieces of his private collection ink paintings -- a veritable array of some of the finest early ink paintings ever seen in Chinese painting history. This exhibition, a teaser preceding the forthcoming major show on Lee's works in 2006, is held with the cooperation of Mr Lee's family and City Art Gallery Malaysia. Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate the refined taste and elevated dignity of Lee, renowned as one of Malaysia's most important pioneer artists.
